My Songbird & Day 121. 244 Days Left.

7:00am: I awaken to the soft rhythmic mumbles coming through the baby monitor. I lay there a few minutes to make out what Addison has chosen to serenade Jackson and I with on this particular morning.

A few seconds later I make out…

“Are you gonna take me home tonight?
Oh, down beside that red firelight;
Are you gonna let it all hang out?
Fat bottomed girls,
You make the rockin' world go round.”

Queens "Fat Bottomed Girls" has become a ritual in our house. Perhaps she is trying to tell my something?

But for Addison, this song, although a favorite, is not an Addison original. Her life is much like a Broadway Musical; at any moment she will burst into song. But these are not the unoriginal songs of preschool-hood… Oh, no. She has mastered “The Itsy bitsy spider” and “Twinkle- Twinkle”, but Addison is an artist and she must create!

When she is playing with her Toy Story friends, she sings about them. When she is going potty, she sings about her hoo-ha and butt. When she is eating, she sings about her food. When my cell phone rings, she sings “up butt coconut”. Thank you Auntie M!

Last night, while she and Jackson were in the bath, she burst into song. She sang “Jackson is peeing in the tub and mommy has a big fat bottom and makes the whole world go round.” Ah, yes. She mastered two very important eternal truths… Jackson in fact was peeing in the tub and mommy indeed has a fat bottom.

Although I was unaware it made the world go round… perhaps just the hubby’s.

Day 121

July 4th Weekend

Sunday was spent playing at Pop-pop and Gredda’s

Jackson got his toes in the sand
And, of course, the slip-n-slide.
Auntie M and Pop-Pop even joined in the fun…
Watching Daddy and Uncle B give us an awesome firework’s show
Monday July 4th- breakfast with the whole family
(thank you ButterBeans&ChicPeas for Addison adorable July 4th dress!)
Followed by watching fireworks on our balcony.
Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July.

Love those toes in the sand. And love the lyrics. I can say this because I have a fat bottom!

It is as though your daughter is singing directly to me... I am a fat bottomed mama also.

Love the 4th of July pictures. Looks like everyone had a 'blast'! (hahaha! I crack myself up!)
